  • Region 2: Steve Woodroof- Asked how many federation members have signed up for the Elite open tournament in June at Smith Mountain Lake.  He is trying to get enough camera boats.  Steve and Eddie Johnson have mailed letters to different sponsors for this year.

  • Region 3:  Bo Copely held meeting January 14 and they now have 5 clubs instead of 3.  Trying to get sponsors for products and they currently have three.

  • Region 4: Dwayne Linkous- Absent represented by Robert Blankenship – They have picked up two major sponsors to help with tournaments.  They have most of the region signed up to take the boater safety training.  Sold three ads for the Hook Set.

  • Region 5: Mike Bryant- Region 5 has 10 clubs now with another signing up next week.   Starting a new youth club in March with the first tournament in June.  They already have seven parents to participate and are working on sponsors.  Sold three ads for the Hook Set.  Again, ads on the trailer to expire 1/31/07.

  • Region 6: John Terry – Working on sponsorship.  Received a lot of compliments on our first issue of Hook Set.  He is working on the Fall Classic and trying to get discounts from the motels, ramp parking and any others.  Andy Gall, their youth director is partnering with Occoneechee on June 2, 2007, to hold casting kids event.

  • Region 7: Ivan Morris said still BASS and TBF.  They have plenty of sponsors even clubs wanting their name on their trailer.  Ivan has formed a new club.  Ed Bond, region 7 youth director was introduced.

  • Region 10:  Ed Clayton has two new clubs.  Ed Clayton has invited all members to fish Douglas and Cherokee Lakes with them and just pay the entry fee.

  • Paul Thomson – Youth:  Welcome to Ed Bond, region 7 youth director.  We have two youth going to the JWC in Alabama in February.  The youth board is scheduling youth tournaments in different regions this year for better participation and less driving time.  Several regions have contacted him about forming new youth clubs and are in the works.  The youth plan on helping with the state adult tournaments again this year.  They helped with the Fall Classic last year and it went very well.
  • Jeff Franklin – Tournament Director announced that he took a couple of the youth out on his boat during the Fall Classic for just a few hours and they really enjoyed it.  This may be something that our workers can do during the tournament hours.
