BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MINUTES: JUNE 20, 2009

Joan Blankenship, President, called the meeting to order at Clarksville, VA, at 2:00PM.

Minutes from the last meeting were approved as read; motion by Bo Copley and second by Mike Bryant.

Treasurer’s Report will be voted on by email. Motion by Mike Bryant and second by Bo Copley.

Old Business:

• 2009 Calendar – 2 youth state events left.

• Fundraiser in Clarksville – Open tournament had 3 entries and made $65.

Team Championship made $1,875

Fall Classic in October w/$1,000 to give away

• Tournament Structure - Mr. BASS, Team Championship and Fall Classic. Discussed different strategies to make sure we have enough volunteers to help at each event. We need two new tubs. We also had suggestions to end each tournament at an earlier time. Motion by Bo Copley and second by Mike Bryant to table and take back to the members for suggestions.

• Hook Set – Deadline July 15^th. Need Hook Set Editor!!!

• State Team boat sold. We need to get sponsors for food, water, gas, etc. for this year’s team.

• Alliance Program – Have not received funds for 2008 from Lowrance. Triton is coming out with new 2010 boat in July for dealers. Promote our sponsors.

• Berkley and Booyah – Use Berkley code and receive 30% discount. Booyah extended until 6/30/09.

• Need conservation director!!! There are grants we could get. Go Green is big right now.

New Business:

• Club Profile can be used for our Hook Set and BASS. If you send to Pam she will forward.

• State Team – The youth weight is now included w/state team.

We cannot pay all expenses for the state team at this time. Do not buy shirts or jackets.

Motion by Mike Bryant and second by Bo Copley to get 2009 Triton boat and turn it over to use for the state team. We need creative ideas to raise funds for the state team. Try to get sponsors for water, food and gas.

• US Sportsman Alliance Sweepstakes. Youth or Club get to keep 50% of sales.

• B.A.S.S. Dues increase in 2010 to $30 and our state dues will increase to $25 to cover Hook Set.

The next board meeting will be August 9, 2009, at the Lamplighter Restaurant in Clarksville, VA. We will finalize our 2010 calendar permitting ramp approval.

ALL BOARD MEMEBERS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND.
